Copyright Information:
An “architectural work” is the design of a building as embodied in any tangible medium of expression, including a building, architectural plans, or drawings. The work includes the overall form as well as the arrangement and composition of spaces and elements in the design….
Architectural drawings, home plans, construction documents, also known as blueprints are provided as a service to our clients for use in the construction of ONE BUILDING ONLY at a specific location provided by the client to the Designer/Copyright owner.
The Designer must be notified in writing if the building location changes prior to construction once the plans have been released to the client. The drawings, related documents, and copy rights (photocopies) are to be provided by Ralph Jones Home Plans, LLC (RJHP hereafter). All rights are, and remain the sole property of RJHP and are copyrighted in the name of RJHP. By paying the required fees, the client is licensed to use these blueprints to construct one structure only.
The client may not loan, sell or give these documents to others for the purpose of constructing a second or subsequent building. These documents may not be photocopied, traced, re-drawn, scanned, videotaped or photographed in any manner without written consent from the designer/copyright owner. These plans may not be electronically stored in any manner (whether known or some future technology) without written permission from the designer/copyright owner.
Any use of these plans other than to construct one building as outlined at the time of purchase is strictly prohibited by RJHP. All other use and/or duplication or distribution of printed or digital documents by current means or future unknown means is prohibited under the Federal Copyright Act.
Anyone found constructing multiple homes from a single purchase, or found to be duplicating the plans by any means is in violation of the Federal Copyright Act and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Anyone found to have visited a constructed structure, which was then measured and redrawn from the actual structure is also in violation of the Federal Copyright Act.
If a plan is copied, even if it is changed prior to re-construction, the derivative work is also covered under the Federal Copyright act and the copyright owner is RJHP. To redraw a plan, even with many changes, the derivative work of a copyrighted document remains part of the original copyright ownership. To redraw a plan is strictly prohibited.
